Canadian music icon and legend Gordon Lightfoot did his seemingly annual ritual of playing a string of dates at the famed Massey Hall in downtown Toronto. Gordon Lightfoot has played Massey Hall more times than anyone else ever has or likely ever will and we were there to see the third show in a four night stint on November 28 2014.
He played what seemed like an endless selection of well known songs with the first set having a number of "shortened" versions of some of his hits. He even caught the audience out with one shortened song as he ended the song and the audience kept singing.... ("I told it was a shortened version", he joked)
Growing up listening to most of those songs on the local AM radio station in Eastern Ontario, it was refreshing to see the frail looking music icon in person and even better from the front row.... Here are some pictures from the second set.
