Coming off seeing Chris Cornell solo and acoustic doing song from his career, this was the first time seeing the band that built his career, Soundgarden. They were half of a double bill with Nine Inch Nails on July 27 2014 at my favourite venue (no sarcasm here....), the Molson Ampitheatre. Soundgarden plowed through a 90 minute set of mass hits from the nineties and early two thousands with Chris Cornell still hitting the notes and primeval screams. Ben Sheppard (bassist) seemed to have a massive chip on his shoulder, kicking lights and monitors (later used by Nine Inch Nails) off the stage and generally looking miserable. Regardless, they put on a good show, but didn't play an encore.
